Warranty for electric Mountain Bikes mid drive electric motor kit

Contrary to the other big electric bike manufacturers, who lock their production with only original parts, via authorized sales points, and complex and expensive diagnostic cases, we have created an “open source” electric bike kit .

You can replace many original parts by adaptable parts from the classic bike market (chains, wheels, chainrings, etc.), or from electric bikes (controller, throttel , etc.) or from the industry in general (screws, connectors, cables, etc.).

So even if the original LIFT-MTB parts will be easily compatible with a specification that allows a certainly higher quality than adaptable parts. We want you to be able to repair your electric engine kit easily and independently.

So that you can always use or repair quickly whether you are in France or at the other end of the world.

For each part we have at least two sources of supply (supplier or subcontractor manufacturer) in order to avoid stock shortages at a supplier that would block a production or a repair.

Also keep in mind that unlike a classic ebikes or other systems, if you break a part on a LIFT-MTB electric motor by falling for example, in 10 minutes you will find your classic bike so your bike will not be immobilized.

The battery

Ideally, it should be stored indoors at a temperature between 8°C and 30°C.

Remember to always store your battery charged between 60% and 80% especially for long periods of storage.

Be careful even if it is delivered with a protective cover the battery is not waterproof so avoid contact with water or humidity.

Electronics

No specific maintenance is required.

The electrical system is simply composed of 3 components all linked by waterproof and interchangeable connectors.

Although the kit is perfectly waterproof, avoid too much water splashing and store your bike as dry as possible.

The transmission

As with a conventional bicycle, clean and lubricate the drive chain regularly.

Check the various tightenings of the transmission regularly, especially the chainrings and crankset.

Periodic maintenance & engine care

Like any mechanical device, your electric bike motor kit may need to be serviced after a certain period of use.

Assuming that generally an average user does :

– 2 outings per week of about 25 kilometers, so he rides 50 weeks per year.

That’s about 2500km per year.

We therefore advise you to grease and check the condition of the gearbox bearings of your electric motor kit every year or every 2500 km

Note that the use of short gears (large sprockets on the rear cassette) reduces the stress on these mechanical parts and increases the life of these parts.

A repair kit exists, it is composed of two bearings, 1 bearing ref 6902-2 RS, and 1 bearing ref 608-2 RS. The procedure is very simple, it takes about 10 minutes and there are only 4 screws to remove to disassemble the gearbox. (See the explanatory video below)

The freewheel of the 8 teeth pinion can also be replaced, the reference is HFL1426 INA, this bearing is forced into the pinion it will take a hydraulic press, or a vice and sockets to extract it.
