What position for the battery of an electric Mountain Bikes ?
LIFT-MTB offers these users several positions for the battery of their bike equipped with a LIFT-MTB conversion pedal motor kit.
1) In a backpack:
The big manufacturers who market complete bikes with electric motors like Bosch or Yamaha install the battery on or in the frame, for ease of design and to offer “all public” models
Only for mountain bike use, the battery in a backpack remains in our opinion a better solution in terms of performance.
This makes the bike lighter and therefore more fun to ride. Its behavior will be more lively in the changes of angles, as well as in the relaunchings and rolling parts. A point not to be underestimated!
Our batteries are light, for example, the model 8.7 Ah / 300 Wh, it weighs 1.6 Kg or the weight of 1.6l of water, you can simulate this weight by putting a 1.5 liter bottle of water in your bag.
The 14 Ah and 17 Ah battery models are in “flat” format to fit easily into a backpack and for greater comfort. Our team uses and sells the backpacks of the German brand EVOC with an integrated CE backrest (protector range) always better in case of fall.
The cable connects the battery to the bike. From the bag to the steering sleeve (see photo).
Equipped with a quick connector designed to detach easily in case of a fall.
We usually disconnect the cable on very steep descents. (see video)
For the more concerned, note that our batteries are delivered in a fireproof protective bag.
All batteries size with the differents bag capacity .
Bag 3 liters, with flat and square battery.
Bag 6 liters, with flat and square battery.
Bag 10 liters, with flat and square battery.
Bag 12 liters, with flat and square battery.
Bag 16 liters, with flat and square battery.
Both flat & square battery sizes.

2) Attached to the frame of an electric ATV.
For those who would like a battery on the bike:
We have developed a quick and aesthetic solution for this type of fastening in order to be able to fasten a very compact battery type 8.7Ah (300 Wh), 11Ah (400 Wh) and 14 Ah square (500 Wh) on frames with little space.
This bracket works like a bottle cage but with the dimensions of a battery, so you can use the bottle cage mounts to attach the aluminum bracket to the frame.
If you are interested in this type of assembly, you can make a small cardboard model with the dimensions of the battery to see if it can be integrated, and what it can give once positioned.
Quickly removable with two screws, you can easily deport the battery in a backpack according to the outings.
Interior foam padding.
Protective cover included / aluminum color
Weight: 250 grams
Cage dimensions: Width 95mm x Height 90mm x Length 240mm
-3- Battery bottle for electric bike.
Below the batteries electric bike type rigid hull canister type classic electric bike:
In this case, the battery is directly assembled in the plastic shell, the whole is more voluminous and heavier.
It is attached to the bike’s bottle cage mounting studs according to the space available on the frame. It does not fit on all frames, so check the dimensions.
Weight: 500 grams.
Dimensions: Height 10 cm / Width 9 cm / Length 36 cm.
(allow an extra 2 cm in height and length)
Also be careful, a bicycle battery is made up of different cells, which are small batteries that are soldered together, so it is important that the pressure on the battery is well distributed if it is attached to the frame.
It is therefore strongly advised against trying to attach the battery with serflex or straps to the frame without a rigid support that distributes the stresses such as our aluminum support, this could cause the electric mountain bike battery to work at the welds and damage it.

Connections: Andersson type is designed to be easily disconnected if pulled in case of a fall.
